Full of grace and handsome
Revered, famous and well-known
Respected, acclaimed and influential
He was my grandfather
I grew up in a rusty Village
A Village densely populated
In an era were civilization was unknown
A time when tradition and culture Played significant roles
A season of equality and fairness
Equity was a tangible gift
Valour, strength and wisdom
Played important roles
Respect, honour were virtues of life
Grandfather epitomizes them all
A rare gem of his time
An astute peace maker
He was my mentor, friend and companion
He was my BEST FRIEND.

I loved my grandfather so much that when he passed away, i felt a big emptiness cos we were so close. He had a good life and was full of wisdom. Honesty was his second name. He led his people so well that under his rule peace reigned supreme. He was and is my mentor. I ve fond memories of the day before he died, he called me into the parlor and asked me to open my hands. As he took my hands, opened my palms and spat on it showering me with blessings out of his mouth. I was shocked yet appeased by the fact that he singled me out for that honor. Right till this day, that memory has lingered. He is my HERO.
He blessed you. So I was right. He was indeed very proud of you and he chose you to be his successor.
Yes my Ladyfae. My grandfather showed me favor and for that i will never forget him. Those fond memories still dominate my thought. Thanks ladyfae for showing concern. Am so privileged. Thank you

Voted up and beautiful. How wonderful to have been influenced by such a man as a young boy. To have a mentor like this-the gods smiled down from the heavens. That is how my father was to my nephew until he passed away in 2008. Now I am raising my nephew, but it is not the same. My father was 'Papa' to him and they were like glue-always together.

Hello Sir Ubani! So very Touching and Lovely HUB. Your HUB reminded me of my own Grandmother {My Mom's MOM}. She was a very Graceful, Simple, Loving, & Caring Lady. I had been with her when I was 3 months Tot until 3 years. I won't forget her Gentle Touch, Her smell of Unconditional LOVE. I always loved to sleep in her lap. She was my mother at that time. I was so very close to her that her death was a Big Trauma for me. Because I wasn't there at that time when she passed away. I wanted to say so many things to her, wanted to hug her tightly one last time, but it never happened. I will always regret this.

Beautiful Sir - I certainly took a lot from the time that was well spent with my GrandFathers. They both hit their expiration date long ago, but they sure live on in my mind.
I saw that you left me fan mail. So i smiled and approved . Upon checking your profile. This hub and its title called out to me to be read first. so i did and smiled again , for liked it .
